    As New York Fashion Week finished and London Fashion Week (LFW) just started this week, I wanted to share some of my insights and honest opinion of positive and not so positive experiences of attending LFW few years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I was incredible fortunate to attend several designer shows and rub shoulders with fellow London fashionistas, which I documented here, here and here.     Designer Profile: Huishan Zhang Wins Dorchester Fashion Prize

    Last year I was lucky to attend London Fashion Week in my capacity as a fashion editor for a small start-up magazine. Out of many collections I got to see one stuck out, it was a presentation by China-born Huishan Zhang. His S/S 2013 collection, inspired by his homeland, was superb both in the execution and presentation.  With Latin American jazz playing in the background, models with hair beautifully braided, glided across the room in elegant and ultra feminine designs.     London Fashion Week 2012: Street Style

    So, it’s been a week since the end of the London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 shows. This year I was lucky to attend it in my new role as a fashion editor of a new and exciting magazine. While the shows I attended (John Rocha, Osman, Huishan Zhang, etc) were great and lots of fun, I think all the major action took place in and around Somerset House.
