The whole city is lit up with Christmas lights turning into a magical kingdom and there is so much to do and see. But there are certan Christmas experiences that every Londoner or visitor should definitely check out. The following are my five most favorite Christmassy things worth experiencing or doing in London: 1.Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland This is definitely the biggest theme park in London dedicated to Christmas. It’s an amazing playground both for kids and adults offering a huge variety (over 100) of rides from scary…

72-Hour Guide: Palma de Mallorca (Part II)
Now that you read about my day in Palma de Mallorca in Part I, it’s time to move on and tell you about a day trip to Sóller on Day 2 and discovering my neighbourhood Cala Mayor with its hidden gems on Day 3. Day 2 – Sóller Before I left for Mallorca a colleague of mine told me that I have to take a vintage train from Palma to Sóller. Little did I know it would turn into one of the best travel experiences of my life. Imagine riding a train that is over 100 years old and takes you from Palma’s city center through the breathtaking mountain range, Serra…

72-Hour Guide: Palma de Mallorca (Part I)
Each year, my husband and I look for a sunny destination for May Bank holiday. And this time, we decided to give Palma de Mallorca a go and boy, we weren’t disappointed. Mallorca, a picturesque island, has everything to offer: plenty of sun and sea, a cosmopolitan capital, great gastronomic scene, lots of historic sights and idyllic landscape. We fell in love with Mallorca and after reading this blog, you’ll understand why. When we booked our hotel, we picked one outside Palma which was a great decision. We were in the quieter and relaxing Cala Mayor neighbourhood, just a bus-ride away from the capital and within minutes from a local…

New York: 5 Top Experiences (Part II)
Welcome to Part II of my New York blog post! Today, I am going to cover three other top experiences in New York: High Line, Koreatown and Brooklyn Bridge. Each is easy to do and doesn’t cost a thing unless you decide to indulge like me and buy some goodies to take home. So, come along and enjoy the journey! 3. Walk the High Line After my epic Saturday walk across mid- and lower Manhattan (see Part I), I decided to take Sunday easy. I heard a lot about the High Line, old rail trail turned into an elevated park. The High Line opened in 1934 carrying goods from St John’s…

New York: My 5 Top Experiences (Part I)
Those of you who have read my “Marie Claire” article on New York, will know that my introverted self used to not like it. It was just too harsh, too brash, too loud for me. Yet, a job took me to New York almost 10 years ago and I spent two marvellous months living in Manhattan. I moved around the world since then but occasional business trips take me across the pond. And I get to fall in love with Big Apple over and over again. New York, being one of the coolest and most popular destinations in the world, offers numerous choices for cultural, historic and gastronomic experiences. You…

Christmas at the Magical Lantern Festival
Every year we have a routine of visiting our favorite places in London to see Christmas lights. But there is one place that is very special – the Magical Lantern Festival. Traditionally held in January (read my January 2016 and 2017 reviews), this year we are lucky to have it in December right before the Christmas holidays. It’s been now our third year going to the festival and it doesn’t fail to impress us. Just see the photos for yourself! Held in the Chiswick House and Gardens, the Magical Lantern Festival is an impressive light display that takes you on an enchanting journey, following park’s trails. Depending on a theme,…

A Day in Nusa Lembongan, Bali
If you’ve been to Bali more than once, sooner or later you’ll want to venture out and check out some of the neighboring islands. While some are popular among the backpackers and party crowd, others are quieter and perfect for families and newlyweds. With 11 days booked in Bali, my husband and I knew we wanted to check out either one of the Gili islands or one of three islands on the southeastern coast of Bali (Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan or Nusa Lembongan). We wanted to make it a day trip, so after some research, we settled on Nusa Lembongan, an island close to Bali and supposedly, an untouched paradise.…
