New York: 5 Top Experiences (Part II)

Welcome to Part II of my New York blog post! Today, I am going to cover three other top experiences in New York: High Line, Koreatown and Brooklyn Bridge. Each is easy to do and doesn’t cost a thing unless you decide to indulge like me and buy some goodies to take home. So, come along and enjoy the journey!   3. Walk the High Line After my epic Saturday walk across mid- and lower Manhattan (see Part I), I decided to take Sunday easy. I heard a lot about the High Line, old rail trail turned into an elevated park. The High Line opened in 1934 carrying goods from St John’s…

New York: My 5 Top Experiences (Part I)

Those of you who have read my “Marie Claire” article on New York, will know that my introverted self used to not like it. It was just too harsh, too brash, too loud for me. Yet, a job took me to New York almost 10 years ago and I spent two marvellous months living in Manhattan. I moved around the world since then but occasional business trips take me across the pond. And I get to fall in love with Big Apple over and over again. New York, being one of the coolest and most popular destinations in the world, offers numerous choices for cultural, historic and gastronomic experiences. You…

    Malta: Return to Mediterranean Paradise

If you read my previous post on Malta, you know that I went there for the first time six years ago and had a great time. So, when the opportunity came up to visit family in Malta again, my husband and I jumped on it and booked an Easter holiday. Malta is a tiny island country in the Mediterranean with a colourful history and culture. That makes it a perfect destination for a short vacation. If you only have a couple of days, follow my simple itinerary to get a taste of Malta. Valetta Start your first day in Valetta, smallest European capital. It’s super easy to navigate and well-connected…

Christmas at the Magical Lantern Festival

Every year we have a routine of visiting our favorite places in London to see Christmas lights. But there is one place that is very special – the Magical Lantern Festival. Traditionally held in January (read my January 2016 and 2017 reviews), this year we are lucky to have it in December right before the Christmas holidays. It’s been now our third year going to the festival and it doesn’t fail to impress us. Just see the photos for yourself! Held in the Chiswick House and Gardens, the Magical Lantern Festival is an impressive light display that takes you on an enchanting journey, following park’s trails. Depending on a theme,…

    In Bruges: Christmas

If you have noticed, I have been offline (or shall I say, off blogging) for a while. I have been busy with other things, like launching my brand, but that hasn’t stopped me traveling. In the fall alone, I have been to Dubrovnik, Kyiv, Barcelona, and Bruges. As some of you know, every year I always have few blog posts on Christmas in London and other European locations (like Berlin or Oslo). This time, I want to take you on a quick trip to Bruges, Belgium. So…if you have seen In Bruges movie, you probably already know that it’s a picturesque Belgian medieval town. It’s very pretty and around Christmas,…

6 Things I Love and Loathe About London Fashion Week

As New York Fashion Week finished and London Fashion Week (LFW) just started this week, I wanted to share some of my insights and honest opinion of positive and not so positive experiences of attending LFW few years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I was incredible fortunate to attend several designer shows and rub shoulders with fellow London fashionistas, which I documented here, here and here. But despite their allure, fashion weeks also reveal a less glamorous side of the fashion world… THINGS I LOVED 1.Creative buzz – twice a year London transforms into a beehive of buzzing fashion editors, photographers, celebrities, bloggers, PR girls and models roaming from venue to venue. Central London, especially around…

    Easy Thai Prawn Laksa

Although I wouldn’t call myself an expert in Thai cuisine, I do love a hearty home-made Thai cooking. So today, I am sharing a super easy laksa recipe I created that involves only a few ingredients and takes very little time. Laksa is a traditional spicy curry soup that is cooked with chicken, fish or prawns and served with rice noodles. So whatever meat or fish you have at home, this recipe can easily be adapted.  INGREDIENTS 1 medium onion 180gr red Thai curry paste 400gr coconut milk 340-400gr prawns 250gr pak choi 200ml boiling hot water 200gr rice noodles (for 2 people) Fresh coriander to sprinkle METHOD First, to make laksa peel…
