Over the Knee Boots: Buy, Style, Wear
Over-the-knee boots have been fashionable on and off for years now but this fall the trend has taken off again and can be found in every high street and online fashion store in various colours, materials and prices! What I really love about over-the-knee boots is their understated chic and versatility. They can instantly make a whole outfit and can easily be paired with dresses, skirts, shorts and jeans. Source: Just the Design Leather and suede over-the-knee boots are particularly cosy during fall and winter months. Layered with over the knee socks (my favorite!), they well protect my knees in cold weather, allowing me to look fashionable even in winter. They also make…

The Truth Behind Fashion Compliments
Did you ever wonder why someone compliments you on a certain item of your outfit and what they actually expect hearing back? Is it them being polite, admiring your sense of style or actually being curious and inquisitive? We had an interesting conversation the other day at work on how to respond to a style-related compliment and what it actually means. I always thought it was a polite thing to compliment someone if they look great or wearing something I particularly liked, especially in the country like Britain where good manners are highly valued. However, what I found out from my female colleagues is that by complimenting someone they are…

YSL Monogram Blogger Bag: Review and Styling Tips
A couple weeks ago I celebrated my birthday and I was lucky to get YSL Monogram Blogger Bag, my first YSL bag, as a birthday present from my hubby. Yay!!! To be honest, I have been looking for a small red cross-body bag for a while. The choice was between Gucci Soho Mini, Mulberry Mini Lily and YSL Monogram Blogger Bag. Being a blogger, it was very appropriate to get a ‘blogger bag’, plus I loved its practicality and value for money. After all this blog is about staying stylish without breaking the bank, right? Apparently, YSL’s creative director Hedi Slimane dedicated this Blogger Bag to the fashion bloggers, thus making it more affordable than…

Dress for Less: Packing Light for Summer Holiday
Packing for summer holiday is always a bit of a fashion dilemma: on one hand you want to look stylish and have choices, on another – you don’t want to lag too much clothes and pay extra luggage charges, especially if you travel on budget airlines and only carry a hand luggage. For my recent week-long summer holiday in Greece (you can read about it here) I put together a following packing list that actually worked quite well for me. Mixing and matching items in similar color schemes gave me plenty of choices for both casual/day and dressy/going out outfits. For example, white jeans can be easily paired with casual cotton shirts and dressy…

Dress for Less: Shine Bright or How to Wear Metallics
From Elle McPherson strutting around in her infamous silver pants to Kim Kardashian and Cindy Crawford’s futuristic dresses at the MET Gala, metallics are seen everywhere and are one of the biggest trends of Spring/Summer 2016, which found its way both into clothing and footwear. Major high street retailers, like Mango, Zara, River Island, H&M and Office, have jumped on the trend and came up with their own interpretations of the trend. Like many women, I love a bit of a sparkle so metallics found a quick way to my wardrobe. Today you can find metallics in different shades of silver, gold or rose gold, making them very versatile. Simple and minimalistic,…

Customising Apple Watch: One Watch, Many Faces
If you, like me, are the lucky owner of the Apple Watch, you know that it’s an amazing piece of technology that is capable of doing many things. However, did you know that you can turn it into a fashion statement?! I got my Apple Watch Sport as a Christmas gift from my lovely hubby. It’s a 38mm model that came with silver aluminium case and white sport band. When I got the watch, the choices of standard bands the sport model came with were quite limited. However, Apple is constantly updating and expanding its range of colors, styles and materials suitable for any taste and budget. Given my personality, I love…

My DIY Wedding (Part II): Smell, Eat, Party
Now that you have read my tips and ideas for the wedding dress, hair and make-up in Part I, it’s time to move on. In this section I will reveal my secrets on how to make your own wedding bouquet, organize a wedding lunch and a great reception/party. Wedding Bouquet I have to say making my own bouquet was probably one of the most enjoyable experiences of wedding preparations. Rather than spending lots of money on a bouquet made by a florist and if you like working with flowers, I would suggest making your own. This way you can incorporate your favorite flowers and choose colors that will match…
