Feel the Love in Bali’s Berry Amour Villa
Imagine waking up every morning in a beautiful private villa? A regular of hotels and even hostels in the past, for me the comfort and privacy of a luxury villa was a welcomed change. Before we headed to Bali, I have done extensive research on 4 and 5-star villas that would meet our location, price and amenities criteria. Once we came across Berry Amour romantic concept villas in Seminyak that ticked all of our boxes, we booked it immediately. After 11-day relaxing stay, I can say our villa was worth every penny. Let me take you on a virtual tour to judge it for yourself!
First, after a long but rather pleasant journey from London via Doha that I wrote about here, we were picked up at Denpasar airport by villa’s friendly driver Ketut (yes, like a famous character in Eat, Pray, Love). In addition to the air-conditioned swanky 4×4, the pickup also included wet and chilled hand towels to freshen up after a long flight, and a jar of heart-shaped ginger cookies to snack on. Yum! Considering we arrived quite late in the evening, the drive from the airport was quick and easy and we were at Berry Amour in no time. Even though it was almost midnight, the duty concierge greeted us like VIPs with cold welcome drinks and a beautiful flower wreath for me to be bestowed by my hubby.
Once we checked into our villa, we felt like home! It was simply beautiful. Berry Amour is an complex of 18 private villas. This adults only retreat was created for couples to have a romantic getaway in the heart of trendy Seminyak. But it’s very quiet since it’s surrounded by rice fields and each villa has so much privacy that we never heard any of the neighboring guests.
Out of three types of villas, each with its own characteristic décor and theme (Desire, Temptation, and Mystique), we opted for Mystique villa. It was very cozy and stylish, incorporating elements of modern interior design and traditional Balinese décor, such as volcanic stone walls, wood carvings, and thatched roof.
Next to the living room and bedroom, there was a stylish bathroom with his and hers sinks, dresser and luggage area, a spacious shower room with sky light, and funky Japanese toilet with washing up functions!
And if you forgot your toiletries, there are plenty of these at the villa!
But that’s just the indoors. The bathroom area opened to an outdoor jacuzzi that was filled for us with water and rose petals when we arrived. It was a lovely spot to relax at the end of the long journey.
But the main jewel of the villa was our private pool with a sundeck! It was always at perfect temperature and became a welcomed refuge from balmy Balinese sun. My husband and I spent many hours of swimming and playing in this pool. We also rented a floatie and for me, it had to be a unicorn!
And if this was not enough, we also had an outdoor kitchen and dining area with everything we needed to fix ourselves a meal or hot drink (if ever felt like it!). We had breakfast most of the mornings here, looking at the pool and our little garden.
Villa staff offer you an option of having your breakfast in bed (how romantic!), in the dining area or…in the pool! Yes, I have finally had my first floating breakfast, which was so much fun I had it more than once. And did I mention, there are numerous options for breakfast so you never get bored eating the same food. And even if you don’t see something you like, the chef will always fix something on request. I particularly loved dragon fruit breakfast bowl that was both aesthetically pleasing to look at and tasted amazing.
But none of this would’ve mattered without Berry Amour team and impeccable customer service. No matter how long you stay – two days or two weeks, every guest is treated like a VIP. No request is too big – be it a marriage proposal, birthday, wedding anniversary or simply a room service or suggestion for a day trip, and staff are always there to help you out with a smile on their faces.
Everything in the villas is designed to make it a worry-free vacation to the point you would never want to leave them. Just think about it: you have your own private pool to swim and sunbathe, room service 24/7 if you get hungry, spa services and free yoga sessions in the complex, and even a driver if you want to pop out to Seminyak for dinner.
On a daily basis, our villa was cleaned at the speed of light to avoid any disturbance, fridge was stocked with complimentary water and soft drinks, the bed was turned down for the night and bedroom sprayed to keep flying and crawling guests out (by the way, we never got bitten by mosquitoes during our stay). We also got fresh flowers, like this bouquet of beautiful roses.
Being long staying guests, we were so spoilt with special treats – a birthday cake for me and my hubby, a romantic dinner at our villa of beautifully presented and served Balinese dishes and an afternoon tea with Berry Amour’s General Manager, Mr. Kade Lasiadi.
During our stay at the villas, we got to know most of the staff and quickly picked up on their family-like bond and strive to deliver best customer service. That can at least partially be credited to the strong management team of general manager Mr. Lasiadi and manager Arya Priyadi. During our afternoon tea with Mr. Lasiadi, he shared his passion for themed villas and creating a special romantic experience for couples coming from all over the world. We had a lovely chat about villas and concept behind them, the tourism industry in Bali and our love of Bali and its people.
After almost two weeks at the Berry Amour it was heartbreaking to leave the villas, but more importantly, the staff who made it such an unforgettable experience. They took such a good care of us and many came to say Goodbye. Next day after we left, Berry Amour villas celebrated their fourth anniversary. As the team was decorating complex for such a special occasion, I couldn’t help but wish we stay an extra day to join them and wish Berry Amour a Happy Birthday.
It was the best vacation we’ve had so far and best present my hubby and I could give ourselves for our 40th birthdays. I felt so relaxed and happy and now every time it rains in London, I think of our time in Bali and villa, and it immediately brings a smile to my face. So if you are heading to Bali any time soon, I suggest you check our Berry Amour Villas.
Happy travels! xx
